The club scene in Milan sucks.

KIDDING!!!!

This city is actually amazing. The nightlife here is crazy, and there's always something to do/somewhere to go regardless of the day of the week, regardless of if you wanna get super turnt or just chill at a bar with some friends.

Our first night here, there was an event for international students at The Club (no it's actually called that I laughed too). For only 10 euros, you got entry and 2 free drinks. Not bad considering drinks at most clubs are usually 9-10 euros each. The only things that sucks about going out here in this city is that most clubs/events have a cover charge regardless if you're a girl or guy, and the public transportation stops running around 2 am, so we always have to cab back to our dorm.

We did get lost on the way to The Club, and lesson learned: ALWAYS have a screenshot of the directions on your phone because cell service in the city gets kind of sketchy, and your google map app may suddenly decide not to work anymore. We were soaked by the time we got to the club because we got off at the wrong tram stop and had to walk an half an hour in the rain.

Once we got there, there were no regrets. Drinks in Milan aren't the most expensive, but bottle service prices are through the roof. That's because most European cities are big on the "see or be seen" culture, rather than the "let's drink till we blackout" aspect that Americans focus on.

We somehow coerced the bouncer into letting us into the back VIP area and didn't have to pay for drinks the whole night. Being a girl definitely has its perks sometimes.

Friday night, we went to Alcatrez.

So you know how there's your nice nightclubs, and then you have your not-so-nice nightclubs? Hahaha soooo thiiiis place... this place is defintely borderline ratchet. We were all dressed pretty nicely, and walking into this place and seeing girls wearing converse in the bathroom was not exactly what we were expecting. It was a really cool venue though, and HUGE too!! When we first got there, a really cool cover band was playing some chill music on a side stage. We were jamming out and all of a sudden, the lights cut out and a curtain to the side of the stage lifted, revealing a giant dancefloor and a DJ with caged dancers on both sides. We imediately ran towards it of course.

Jillian and I got pulled into the VIP section by these Italian guys that wouldn't leave us alone, but then the scarily huge bouncer thought we were causing a ruckus and escorted us out. However, our new Italian friends were very persistent and very intent on us staying with them and kept arguing with the bouncer to let us stay with no avail. We definitly redeemed ourselves later by getting pulled on stage to dance with the DJ in front of the entire club though. Pretty chill.

Last night, we went to Just Cavalli. Cover there is usually 30 euros, which is insanely expensive. But since it was student night, cover was only 20 euros and included a free drink! We were pretty pumped to go because it's supposed to be one of the nicest clubs in Milan. Think The Underground in Chicago. It was kind of an exclusive loungey-vibe where you have to be dressed to the nines to get in.

We started off our night at a vodka bar serving 1 euro vodka shots. Needless to say, the pregame was real-real. By the time we got to Just Cavalli, we were ready to dance like crazy mofos.

They played amazing music there, lots of Oliver Heldens and deep house that you'd expect from European nightlife. The place was packed with people getting bottle service (lots of old creepy men), and the drinks they served us were pretty strong. They were not stingy with their alcohol at the bar and one drink was filled with enough alcohol get you very buzzed. Most people were from Bocconi or of the older European set. However, there was a really rude old guy sitting at a table with his bottle being a complete asshole to my friends and me, calling us "Dumb Americanos". Soooo when he turned around, Mauricio grabbed the bottle he had and we ran!!! Needless to say, it was some pretty nice vodka that we got to enjoy.

A success!!

Now I'm off to go get some gelato and recover from my crazy weekend. We're heading to the AC Milan game later tonight and staying up to watch the SUPERBOWL!!! You can take the American out of America, but you can never take away our love for football and cheap beer. HYFR USA!!!!!
