French Fries & Waffles

Come for the waffles, stay for the chocolate because you're now 15 pounds overweight (both your luggage and your body) so you can't leave anyways.

I personally blame these babies:

I'm not really complaining though..... they never get old. The whipped cream basically melts in your mouth, and the chocolate, don't even get me started about melted chocolate!!!

So Brussels was pretty great. It was amazing to be able to see everyone for a weekend and hear about everyone's trips and experiences in their separate host countries. You don't realize how much you really miss your good friends until you get to spend time with them again, and then it's like "we're back and better than ever." The whole EST experience was really rewarding as well. You get to see everyone come together and share stories about their adventures. What we learned about the EU was also pretty interesting, with the current crisis with Greece. The whole idea of a network between the countries of Europe takes a tremendous amount of planning and dedication for each individual country. I can't even imagine a system like that in place in North America.

But really, Brussels was a such a cool city. You can tell there's a lot of French influence mixed into the city because of all the special food they were offering. Most dishes there are cream based, which gives them a lot more flavor and guarantees a mandatory food coma within 30 minutes or less of your meal. I could spend hours talking about the amazing mussels and fries and chocolate I got to eat, but I feel like that would be too much torture in one post. I'll spread it out later.

Our trip didn't just revolve around food though, a lot of us also enjoyed the lovely alcoholic beverages in the area. Delirium, also now my favorite bar in the whole world, was amazing. I've never seen such a variety of drinks. You could order cactus beer, mango flavored drafts, and my personal favorite, a Delirum Red (cherry flavored and a smashing 10 percent). Of course.... I spent 3 out of my 3 nights in Brussels frequenting this place. It was unreal.

Even the ceiling in this place was cool. They just knew....

Minji and I decided to wander off on our own on Thursday, and we stumbled upon this amazing little hideaway bar. There was a live band, and the bartender was super friendly. That's also when I discovered my favorite beer in the entire world.

Malheur, or "Misfortune" in English, was the best alocholic beverage to touch my lips thus far... oh how I could write songs about you. All 11% of you.

Yea, you read that right.

Best beer ever.
